Kenneth Edward Kuhn's Obituary
Kenneth Edward Kuhn, age 92, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away at Heritage Health Care on Sunday, April 16, 2017. Kenny was born on October 16, 1924 in Chanute, Kansas, the son of Elmer and Mary (Axtel) Kuhn.
Kenny was raised on a farm in rural Chanute. After graduating from Chanute High School in 1943, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Europe in WWII. He was medically discharged in 1945 from shrapnel wounds he received in France.
After serving his country, Kenny worked as an electrician for two local electric companies and graduated from a trade school in Texas. He also attended Chanute Jr. College.
On February 11, 1951, Kenny married Glenna Pearl Fairchild in Chanute, Kansas. Together, they opened K-K Electric which is still in business today at 914 S. Santa Fe. Kenny and Glenna celebrated 66 years of marriage this year.
Kenny was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and the VFW. He was an avid hunter and fisherman in his spare time. Kenny was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chanute where he served on several church boards and, along with Glenna, sponsored youth groups for several years.

Cremation has been requested.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Chanute First Baptist Church. A Memorial Service will be held at Chanute First Baptist Church on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. Memorials have been suggested to Wounded Warrior Project or National Parkinson Foundation and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
