Kevin Patrick Dwyer's Obituary
Kevin Patrick Dwyer, 55 of Humboldt, KS, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018 in Wichita, KS.
He was born Oct. 26, 1962 in Fort Scott, KS to Charles J. (Mick) Dwyer and Evelyn L (Erie) Dwyer.
Kevin followed his father with his love of law enforcement. He spent many years with local police departments, correctional facilities, and sheriff departments in the state of Kansas, most recently the sheriff's department of Wilson County. He also owned and operated his own tree trimming business in Humboldt.
Kevin married his wife, Helen, in March 2009 in Chanute, KS, and she survives of the home. He is also survived by his daughter, Ashley Shelton, husband Heath and from this union, Kevin's three grandchildren: Gage Luther Shelton, Alyssa Daelynn Shelton and Jaxon Ryder Shelton of Fort Scott; and daughter, Khristen Dywer of Arma, Kan.
Other survivors include Kevin's mother, Evelyn L. Dwyer of Fort Scott; brother, Kirk R. Dwyer of Fort Scott and sister, Kimberlee J. (Dwyer) Pittz and husband Troy Pittz of Berryton, KS, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles J. (Mick) Dwyer and his grandparents.
Kevin loved doing woodworking projects in his shop and fishing during his off time. He also really enjoyed spending quality time with his wife, Helen, around the house and outdoors doing yard work in the spring and summer months.
Kevin was known for his smile, humbling personality and kindness to others. He loved his two daughters, Ashley and Khristen and his grandchildren and they loved him. He will be deeply missed.
