Kevin Lee Lawrence's Obituary
Kevin Lee Lawrence, affectionately known to many as "Bub," passed away on March 22, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on October 9, 1968, to Johnny and Gail Lawrence of LaFontaine, Kevin was a devoted son, father, brother, uncle, papa and friend.
Throughout his life, Kevin touched the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves behind his beloved sons, Tyler and wife Faith of Elk City, Jordon and wife Callie of Longton, and Brandon and girlfriend Sage Hawley of Fredonia, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Kolt, Weston, and Liv. Kevin is also survived by his sisters, Gayla Ratzlaff and husband Rick of Fredonia and Leah Hoesli and husband Jeremiah of Fredonia, along with 6 nieces and nephews Chase, Kaden, Ashlynn, Bella, Logan, and Bristol. As well as his girlfriend Devin Werner from Cimmaron, Kansas.
Kevin dedicated 23 years of his life to LaFarge in Fredonia, where he worked tirelessly until his retirement. He then went on to work for Wilson County Road and Bridge, where he continued to work until recent.
A proud alumni of Fredonia High School, Kevin graduated in 1987, leaving behind a lasting impact as the senior class president. He was also a member of the LaFontaine Christian Church.
Kevin was a passionate sports enthusiast. He loved cheering for his favorite teams, especially his Chiefs, Wildcats, Royals, and the Yellowjackets. To honor Kevin’s love of sports, the family invites attendees to wear attire representing any of these teams.
Kevin's love for the outdoors was evident in his dedication to raising cattle for over 30 years. He found joy in hunting and cherished moments spent with family, whether it was watching sports together or simply enjoying each other's company.
Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His kindness, generosity, and infectious laughter will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest in peace Kevin. Cancer may have tried to dim your light, but your spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those you loved.
In honor of Kevin's life, a funeral Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, March 28th at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 5-7 PM. Memorials have been suggested to the Fredonia Education Foundation to benefit the Fredonia Jr/HS athletic department, memorial Kevin Lawrence and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
