Larry "Spike" E. Millis' Obituary
"Spike" Larry Eugene Millis, 68, of Neodesha KS, passed away on Saturday September 23rd after his battle with Thyroid Cancer. Born November 27, 1954 to Eugene and Virginia Millis in Neodesha Kansas. Spike was the youngest of 5 siblings, Jerry (Sally) Millis, Tim (Debbie) Millis, Karen Murray and Debbie Hughes.
After graduating from Neodesha High School, Spike remained a resident of Neodesha and became a beloved pillar of the community to many. Spike worked as a master carpenter, plumber, and electrician nearly his entire life, serving his community and the surrounding area. Spike Married the love of his life, Micha, on September 23rd, 1983. When he wasn’t working, Spike spent his time enjoying his grandchildren, fishing, tending to his garden, and taking care of family. Many remember him for his wonderful sense of humor, huge heart, and undying loyalty.
Spike is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Millis, his sisters Debbie Hughes and Karen Murray, and his Brother Jerry Millis. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Micha Millis, his mother, Virginia Millis, Brother Tim (Debbie) Millis, his 3 daughters Jennifer (Terry) Millis , Angela Millis, and Sally (Howard) Millis, His grandchildren Ryan (Kristina) Kemp, Blaine (Nevaeh) Noss, Micha Noss, Allias Hartman, Evan O’Connel and great grandchildren Ramsay Elam, Mikella Elam, and Rayla Kemp.
Cremation has been requested. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 12:00 noon, by the family at the Outlook Channel Shelter at Elk City Lake, all are welcome. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials in his memory to the Fredonia Pound Pals and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.
