Laura Annie Bass' Obituary
Laura Annie Bass, 87, of Chanute, formerly of Safford, AZ, died Monday, December 23, 2013 at Diversicare of Chanute. Laura was born on February 27, 1926 in Tacoma, WA the daughter of Jason V. and Annie Laura (Cliff) Whiting.
In 1945 Laura married Grover T. Bass, they were married for over 51 years until he died in 1997. Laura was a homemaker, and loved spending time with her family. Laura was active in her church and volunteering at the Graham County Community Hospital in Safford for many years before moving to Chanute.
Laura is survived by her three children: Mary Elliott and husband John of Scotia, New York; David Bass and wife Debbie of Chanute, KS; and James Bass and wife Marcia of Douglas, Wyoming. She has 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Cremation has been requested and there will be no local services. The family will hold services in Safford, AZ at a later date. Memorials have been suggested to Alzheimer's and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
