LaVonne E. Green's Obituary
LaVonne Green, 86, of Chanute, Kansas, previously a resident of Benedict, Kansas for 44 years, passed away on July 4, 2019 in Wichita, Kansas.
LaVonne was born on October 3, 1932 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Charles and Ethyl (Ames) Campbell. She spent her early years in the mountains of Oregon, northern California, Texas, and Oklahoma. She married Richard Green in June, 1972 and moved to Kansas, to spend the remainder of her years. LaVonne had two brothers and two sisters, six children—Richard Albertson (wife Izella) of California; Ron Jeffries (wife Patti) of North Carolina; Regina Isaacson (husband Dale) of Rose, Oklahoma; Patty Barfield (husband Vernon) of Wellsville, Kansas; Parrian Hatch (husband Tim) of Chanute, Kansas; and Philo Tregellas of Benedict, Kansas. She also had three step-children—Debbie Engeland of Benedict, and Rick and Mike Green of California, as well as thirteen grandchildren—Eldon, Kelly, Ronnie Jr., Michael, Trish, Jason, Michelle, Darrellyn, Dustin, Joshua, Brandon, Christopher, and Scotty—and many great-grandchildren.
LaVonne worked over 20 years at the Chanute Walmart, retiring in 2012. She enjoyed her work, but her real passion was her arts and crafts. Throughout the Southeast Kansas area, she traveled to many craft shows to share her joy with others. No matter what though, LaVonne always put her family first, spending time on the road, at concerts and parades, and just enjoying their company.
A Celebration Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Chanute, Kansas at 10:00 on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.
