Lawrence James Dietrich's Obituary
Lawrence Dietrich, age 88, of Humboldt KS, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Arrowood Lane in Humboldt. Lawrence was born in the house where he lived most of his life, south of Humboldt to John and Emma (Breiner) Dietrich on April 20, 1927.
Lawrence married Delpha Carl on October 1, 1946. Lawrence was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, welding and building anything and spending time with his ten grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. He served with the United States Navy Seabees during World War II and was honorably discharged January 3, 1947.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, son, Douglas Dietrich, sisters, Sister Mary de Pazzi, Sister Mary Jude, Ruth Watts, Cecilia Miller, and Katherine and brothers, Leo, Carl, Paul, and Robert.
He is survived by his son, Dan and wife Georgia (Cline) Dietrich of Humboldt, KS, and daughters, Patricia and husband Allen Wilhite of Humboldt, KS, and Laura and husband Randy Laver of Wichita, KS.
Rosary will be recited Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church Humboldt, KS. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday May 26, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. There will be a visitation prior to Rosary at 12:30 p.m. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Humboldt. Family suggests memorials be made to Southern Care Hospice or St. Joseph Catholic Church. Memorials may be left at the church or mailed to the funeral home, Countryside Funeral Home 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS 66720.
