Leonard Ralph Landwehr's Obituary
Leonard Ralph “Lenny†Landwehr, age 80, a resident of rural Fredonia, Kansas passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas. He was born December 2, 1931 in rural Fredonia the son Ben and Anna (Zogleman) Landwehr.
Leonard worked for many years at LaFarge as a utility / production worker. On December 22, 1978 he was united in marriage to Marlys Miller at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fredonia. Leonard was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #1291, rural water board #13, Bachelder Cemetery Board and Union Iron Workers Local D75. He enjoyed being outdoors feeding birds and squirrels and tending to his garden.
He is survived by his wife Marlys Landwehr of the home, one brother Leo Landwehr of Chetopa, Kansas, three sisters; Johanna Hauptman of Hays, Kansas, Elnora Lane of Goddard, Kansas ad Wilma Jean Liebman of Bellevue, Washington, several nieces and nephews and countless friends. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Robert and Edward, sisters; Martina Watts, Bertha Breazeale and Alice Powers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fredonia. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to either Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the Fredonia Flag Fund and may be sent to Countryside Funeral Home, P.O. Box 247, Fredonia, KS 66736.
