Leroy Eugne Turner's Obituary
Leroy Eugene Turner, age 78, a resident of Longton, Kansas passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on September 15, 1935 in Wichita the son of Ancil Leroy and Marjorie Dexter (Neff) Turner.
In 1956 Leroy was united in marriage to Joan Carroll at the Longton United Methodist Church. Leroy worked for Hopper Glass Company as a glazier and later started his own A and B Glass Company. He also worked for Meals on Wheels in Elk County doing deliveries and was certified through H&R Block to prepare taxes. Leroy was a member of the Longton United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge in Mulvane, Union Local #558 and the Midian Shrine in Wichita. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching sports.
Leroy is survived by his wife Joan Turner of Longton, Kansas, one daughter Tammy Williams of Wichita, Kansas, four sons; Leo Turner of Robinson Creek, Kentucky, Ronald Turner of Miami, Oklahoma, Robert Turner of Neodesha, Kansas and Toney Turner of Wichita, Kansas, 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Longton United Methodist Church with Pastor Dena Allison officiating. Family suggests memorials to the Longton United Methodist Church and may be left with the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com. Arrangements are entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, Howard, Kansas.
