Lewis "Bud" Albert Stroh's Obituary
Lewis Albert “Bud” Stroh, age 87, of Humboldt, KS, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in Chanute. Lewis was born on June 25, 1929 in Humboldt, KS the son of George Elmer and Leola Lola (Krueger) Stroh. He grew up on a farm and went to school at Onion Creek School until the 8th grade then went to work on the family farm and continued working there until the Korean War draft. He served two years in the United States Army then continued on in the reserves for an additional 5 years.
On April 30, 1954, Lewis married Frances Fay Page at First Methodist Church in Iola, KS. She precedes him in death.
Lewis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed watching the Kansas City Royals, playing cards, coon hunting, gardening, and camping. He especially loved fishing and often took his children with him when they were younger to run trout lines in the river. He was fortunate to have a very close set of friends for his entire life. His family was the most important thing in the world to him.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Frances; grandson, Neil Stroh; and lifelong friend, Verna Laver.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 1-2:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home – Humboldt Chapel in Humboldt, KS. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt, KS. Chanute Honor Guard will be in charge of military honors.
