Liane Michele Kennedy's Obituary
Liane Michele Kennedy, age 71 (40 forever), of Iola, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born on June 14, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late Thomas Milton and Lillian Dean Hunt.
After life’s journeys led her to true love, Liane married Willard Kennedy, with whom she shared 21 years of companionship, laughter, and devotion. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many others who lovingly claimed her as their own — and the Lord knows there were many.
Liane was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, and friend to all who had the blessing of knowing her. She loved deeply and fully, even when that meant speaking hard truths with honesty and heart. She had a rare gift — the ability to be both strong and soft, direct yet endlessly compassionate.
Her creativity and artistic spirit were undeniable. Liane found joy in thrift stores, yard sales, and auctions, turning forgotten items into meaningful treasures. She loved crafting, whether working quietly on a project alone or creating lasting memories with her grandchildren, often bringing spontaneous ideas to life in ways that always seemed to turn out beautifully.
The memories she created, the love she gave, and the lives she touched will be cherished forever.
A celebration of Liane’s life will be held at Countryside Funeral Home in Chanute, Kansas, on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and honor her beautiful life.
