Lila Marie Daniels' Obituary
Lila Marie Daniels, 95, of Erie, KS, peacefully passed away Thursday March 21, 2024, at Credo Senior Living in Chanute, KS. Lila Marie was born on August 18,1928, to Walter Sidney Hall and Velma Fern Leonard.
Lila Marie moved with her family, at the age of 9, to a farm north of Erie where she went to Grant Township Rural School, and later graduated from Grant Highschool, at Stark Kansas in 1947, then went on to Cosmetology Beauty School. Lila Marie married Delbert G. Daniels on December 12, 1948, at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church. Then bought a small farm north of Erie, where they started their dairy business of milking cows, farming, and raising their seven children.
Once the children got older, Lila Marie and Delbert purchased a lake house in Oklahoma on Grand, where they later spent most of their time, creating lots of memories. They absolutely loved spending their time there, with friends and family at their lake home, laughing, playing cards, and of course going fishing, in their little purple boat. Lila Marie and Delbert also started their very own business at making jigs. Delbert would mold and paint the jig hooks and then she would tie and complete the jigs, ready for Delbert to promote their L and D Lures, on the lake.
Five years after her husband's passing, Lila Marie moved to Erie where she enjoyed going to senior dances, trips to her lake house fishing with family, crocheting baby blankets for her grand babies, and being outside, enjoying her flowers and doing yard work. Lila Marie was a great Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great Great Grandmother, where she will always be forever in our hearts. She may have caught her last fish here on earth, but she's now catching lots of fish with her soulmate, making their jigs together in Heaven's biggest Lake.
Lila Marie is survived by her seven children:
