Linda Sue Hottenstein's Obituary
Linda Sue (Shields) Hottenstein, 67, Chanute, passed away unexpectedly on Monday evening, August 25, 2025.
She was born March 11, 1958, in Chanute, a daughter of Donald Shields and Barbara Bancroft.
Linda grew up in Humboldt and met the love of her life, Paul. They married July 6, 1977, and spent many years in Cedar Hill, Texas, where they raised their two sons, PT and John.
Linda and Paul moved back to Chanute in 2019, where they enjoyed time with their grandson, Gage, and being closer to family members.
She was known for her love of her family, always taking care of everyone and everything. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, cooking, and baking homemade desserts.
She will be remembered for her strength and resilience, and putting others before herself at all times.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Hottenstein, Jr., of the home; her son, Paul Hottenstein III (Melanie), Forney, Texas; her daughter, Lesli Hottenstein, Olathe; her mother, Barbara, Humboldt; grandchildren, Ethan, Parker and Gage, Haven and Payten; and Chandler and Caleb; sisters, Kathy Vaughan, LaDonna Watts, Connie Anglani, Cindy Toomey, and Lisa Ross; two great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her son, John; her father, Donald; and her sister, Trisha Ostrander, and brother in-law Rick Hottenstein.
A visitation in Linda’s honor will be held from 5-7 pm Friday, August 29, 2025, at Countryside Funeral Home, 101 N Highland Ave, Chanute, is in charge of arrangements.
