Have known Linda all my life. She graduated HS in YC with my brother back in 1965. We also use to visit at the bowling alley. But more recently we shared a cancer journey together and took chemo on the same. I lost track once she went into the nursing home and did not know where she was. Every Thursday she brought snacks to the cancer clinic for the patients, their families and the nurses. Linda didn’t have TV at home so she read and always had a book with her. Her hobby was playing the lottery and buting tickets. I had always hoped she’d hit the big one. I remember when Linda had such a bad case of gout, she could barely walk but never complained. Hit by a car while leaving the library; never complained. I know Linda bartended at various places in her earlier years in Chanute when I really didn’t know her that well, but I saw a side of Linda many others didn’t and that was when she was truly sick. The massive weight loss, the gout, the cancer slowly taking her life. Yet, she talked about her children and their lives. I hope her children will know how much she loved them. I also asked at the cancer center if there had been any updates but bC of patient confidentiality the staff couldn’t discuss anything. I’ve missed Linda for months now and hope that as she walks with angels that she is finally free of her pain. She and I were friends. I enjoyed her company. To her family: I share in your loss. May a wonderful woman RIP. I loved u Linda. ❤️🙏❤️
