Linda L. Potocnik's Obituary
Linda L. Potocnik, age 71, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 in her home town of Chanute, KS.
Linda was born on October 8, 1942 in Denver, Colorado the daughter of Vernon and Betty (Miller) Underwood.
After high school, Linda was a graduate of the Mt. Carmel School of Nursing and Wesley Medical Center School of Anesthesia.
On August 17, 1968 in Cherokee, KS, Linda married Rudy Potocnik, Jr. He survives at their home.
Linda loved to volunteer at the Cherry Street Youth Center and participated in the Chanute Christian Women’s Club and the Sew n’ Sew Quilt Guild. Linda was also an active member of Living Word Assembly in Chanute.
Survivors including her husband Rudy and three children: Gregg Potocnik of Kansas City, MO; Jason Potocnik and wife Alissa and children Madison, Caeden, Rudy, and Leila of Lee’s Summit, MO; Megan Housh and husband Wade of Chanute, KS; siblings: Patty Horne and husband Bob of Vassar, KS; Karen Miller of Ottawa, KS; Gary Gumm and wife Susan of Omaha, NE; and Dennis Gumm and wife Merry Lou of Douglas, KS.
She was preceded in death by her father Vernon, mother Betty, and step-father Hub Brill.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Living Word Assembly Church at 10:30 a.m.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the church.
The family has requested that memorials be given to the Cherry Street Youth Center in Chanute.
