Linda Rae Tiemann's Obituary
Linda Rae (Woodhouse) Tiemann, passed peacefully May 27, 2026 at her home in Chanute, with family at her side.
Linda was born to the most loving parents, Tom and Ramona (Smith) Woodhouse in Manhattan, KS on December 20, 1946. She had a voracious, yet caring spirit. She loved nature, and everything in it. Most of all, she loved her family and many friends. Linda graduated from Manhattan High School. She attended Kansas State University and Kansas City, KS Community College. Linda was a graduate of Bethany Hospital School of Nursing Kansas City, KS. Years later, she took advanced training and graduated as a Nurse Clinician where she was employed at Burlington Hospital in Burlington, KS. Linda was a scholar and pioneering servant, dedicating her 50 plus year nursing career to many in all areas of nursing. Her roles also included House Supervisor at NMRMC, Shawnee Mission Medical Center and Clinic Nurse at Ashley Clinic. She culminated her career in home health, helping patients restore their health and remain in their own homes. Linda viewed her life as a service to many and truly cared for the people she came in contact with. Her faith was strong, her purpose meaningful.
She married the love of her life, Larry Tiemann on January 29, 1972 in Manhattan, KS. They recently celebrated their 54th anniversary. She and Larry became parents to a daughter, Cheryl Tiemann, and son, Justin Tiemann. Grandchildren followed with Nathaniel, son of Cheryl Tiemann. Justin Tiemann and wife Perla, brought grandsons Salvador, Fernando, Diago, and a granddaughter Alexa. Her greatest joy was being a part of her children, building their own families and careers and spending time with her grandchildren. She and Larry spent countless summers with their gardening ventures taking them to a Wichita Farmer's market every weekend for around 30 years. A place where they made many more friends. Their home was their sanctuary, full of wildlife, especially the many birds that navigated annually for a snack along the way. Linda enjoyed being outdoors and helping her husband with firewood. Linda was also an avid reader of countless topics and titles, always thirsting for more knowledge.
Linda is preceded in death by her father and mother, Thomas and Ramona Woodhouse. Linda was an only child.
