Linda Sue VanLeeuwen's Obituary
Linda Sue VanLeeuwen (74) passed away on July 22, 2024, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. She was born on April 15th, 1950, at Hays Hospital in Cedar Vale, Kansas, to Leonord Jr and Marjorie (Fuller) Copple.
Linda attended college and graduated with a nursing degree, she then pursued her career working as a RN for over 40 years, the majority of that was spent working at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center.
In 1977 Linda married Bruce VanLeeuwen in Miami Oklahoma, they were married for 25 years and raised their wonderful daughter together.
Linda enjoyed many hobbies including crafting, painting, scrapbooking, watching old westerns, and puzzles. She prided herself on being an amazing mother giving her daughter a magical childhood and plenty of shopping trips. She looked forward to visits with her daughter and her best friend Stephanie. They could always make her laugh sharing stories, Linda claimed Stephanie as her own.
Those that knew Linda knew she was always early to everything. She never got a speeding ticket, unfortunately that wasn’t passed on to her daughter. She was a prideful woman who was proud of her daughter and her career as a nurse.
In addition to her daughter Angie VanLeeuwen of Chanute, KS, Linda is survived by her sisters MaryAnn Sanders of Bowring, OK, Tracy Oden of Lawrence, KS, Shelley Lipp of Lawrence, KS and a brother John Copple of Cedar Vale, KS, along with cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents Leonord Jr and Marjorie (Fuller) Copple.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 5th, 2024, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Countryside Funeral Home 101 North Highland Chanute, KS.
Memorials are suggested to Castaways.
She now rests in peace with her loved ones she’s missed for too long.
