Linda Jeannine Youngberg's Obituary
Linda J. Youngberg, age 70, passed away Jan. 9, 2016 in Chanute Ks. She was born Feb. 22, 1945 at Camp Stoneman in Pittsburg, CA to Woodrow L. and Margaret M. (Tolbert) Youngberg.
Linda graduated from Chanute High School in 1963, attended KSTC in Emporia, KS, and graduated from California College of Arts (CCA) in Oakland. She worked for CCA over 38 years as an art librarian and lived in the Piedmont Ave. area of Oakland for many years. She moved back to Chanute in 2013 due to declining health.
She had a large area of interests, ranging from fine art, glass & ceramics to dolls, teddy bears & Harry Potter books & videos. She was an avid reader and read hundreds of books in her lifetime.
Preceding her in death are father Woodrow in 2008 and sister-in-law Shirley I. (Polzin) Youngberg in 2013.
She is survived by mother Margaret; brother James (Kathy) Youngberg, nephew Justin, grandnephews Gavin & Reece; brother Richard, and nephew Joshua.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home – Johnson Chapel in Chanute. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday from 1-1:30 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, Johnson Chapel, 101 N. Highland in Chanute. Interment will be in Swede Center Cemetery in rural Chanute. Online condolences may be left at: www.countryisdefh.com.
