Lisa Jean Van Leeuwen's Obituary
Lisa Jean Van Leeuwen, age 42, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas passed away Friday, September 27, 2013 at the Fredonia Regional Hospital, in Fredonia, Kansas. Lisa was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on January 3, 1971, the daughter of Harold and Jane Ellen (Fors) Cohenour.
Lisa graduated high school in Wichita, Kansas and later attended the Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology. Lisa married David Wayne Van Leeuwen on July 7, 2007 in the Fall River Area, and they made their home in Oak Manor until David passed away in December of 2008.
Lisa worked at Alco and six years at Dollar General. She enjoyed working on crafts, doing friends hair and nails, and loved taking in stray animals, whom she took care of made sure they were loved.
Lisa is survived by a daughter; Zavannah Jayne Van Leeuwen of the home, Aunts; Charlene Weatherby and husband Joe of Fredonia, Kansas, Patsy Waggoner of Longview, Texas, Uncle; Doug Fors of West Covina, California, and friend; Missy Rice of Fredonia, Kansas.
Memorial Service will be held at Countryside Funeral Home on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Mike Hughes officiating. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested a memorial to the Zavannah Van Leeuwen Educational Fund, and may be left with the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home P.O.
