Lois Elaine Dannels' Obituary
Lois Elaine Dannels, 77, of Fredonia, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the Morning Star Living Center. Lois was born on June 29, 1946, in Neodesha, KS, the daughter of Clarence Alfred and Lola Faye (Speaks) McCarty.
On October 12, 1963, Lois married Richard Eugene Dannels. They were married almost 40 years until his death of January 29, 2003. Lois was dedicated to taking care of and raising her family, making sure that everyone understood, the love of Jesus and a strong faith came first.
Lois loved to sew, she made all of her children’s clothing while they were growing up and tried her best to stay trendy with their clothes. She worked as a care giver, a short order cook in Altoona, which kept the place packed as everyone loved her cooking. Lois worked at the Fredonia Drapery company for 17 years and then took her seamstress work to Cobalt Boats, until her retirement. Lois stayed busy at her home also, working in the garden, sewing, crocheting, crafting, canning, raising chickens and selling eggs to all who needed them. But most importantly, loving her family.

Eight Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, grandson Ethan Rimel, Great Granddaughter Shaylee Collins, a sister Wanda Cunningham, and a brother Gene McCarty.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia, with burial to follow at the Altoona Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
