Lora Margarette Davidson's Obituary
Lora Davidson, 91, a resident of Dewey OK, passed away on August 9, 2015 at the Capital Regent Medical Center in Jefferson City, MO. Lora was born on April 11, 1924 in Hartshorne, OK to Ralph Denton and Lela (Law) Denton.
Lora married Donald Arthur Davidson in Wichita, KS on September 14, 1974. Lora resided in Wichita, KS until 1976 she then moved to Grenola where she lived for 10 years. From Grenola she moved to Burden where she resided for 10 years. After living in Kansas, she moved to Dewey, OK where she spent the rest of her life. Lora was a hard worker. She worked in a factory during World War 2. She was an actual “Rosie the Riveter” we read about in history books. She also put herself through beauty school while raising 14 children. Lora was a hairdresser until retirement.
Lora was a member of the Dewey Church of Christ and a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #1005. In her spare time she loved to sew. She also loved camping, fishing and dancing. Lora loved her family immensely. She also loved traveling. She traveled to many places including the Philippines, Jamaica and an Alaskan Cruise in which, she traveled with her family.
Lora is survived by her husband Donald of the home. Sons: Richard R. Baker, Ronald Glenn Baker, Robert Wayne Baker, Rodney Arnold Baker, Randall Lee Haselwood, Bernie Joe Haselwood, Bruce Allie Davidson, David Allen Davidson, and Monty Dale Davidson. Daughters: Romia Jean Moe, Dolly M. Roberts and Suzann Marie Griffin. Brother: Leonard Denton and 19 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Lora was preceded in death by her parents, sons; Virgil Ray Baker and James Neal Haselwood. Brothers: William H. Denton, Herbert H. Denton, Charles W. Denton and Donald Denton. Sisters; Wanda Folley, Hope Denton, Glenda F. Brown and Sandra White.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 14, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard with Pastor Stacy Ellsworth officiating. Interment will be held Friday, August 14 at the Green lawn Cemetery, Grenola, KS. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. Memorials have not been requested.
