Lora Lee Wrestler's Obituary
Lora Lee Wrestler, age 74, died February 26, 2018 at her home in Chanute, KS. Lora Lee was born May 8, 1943 at home in Marceline, Missouri to Freda May (Baer) and Lawrence Lavern King. On October 15, 1991 she married Glenn Wayne Wrestler in Marceline, Missouri.
She attended schools and grew up in this small rural town working as a soda clerk in the local retail drug store. After graduation, she worked in several banks in the Kansas City area and for L.T. York Pharmaceutical in Brookfield, Missouri. In 1972 she went into real estate as a broker for King Real Estate, Brookfield, Missouri, an occupation which she has enjoyed for many years. She was elected Brookfield Township Assessor in 1974 serving two terms. Following family tradition, she began working for Santa Fe Railway as a clerk, traveling the Midwest until her retirement in 1993. She and Glenn were owners and operators of Wrestler Boats and Campers before selling that business in 1993. After this, she helped form Wrestler Property Management and enjoyed spending time with her family, home, flowers, traveling, and fishing.
She is survived by her husband Glenn of the home; step-children Marsha (Ken) Aikins, Sand Springs, Oklahoma; Cindy (Terry) King, Chanute; Glennis (Lonnie) Wilson, Chanute; Glenn, Jr. (Debbie) Wrestler, Chanute; Scott Wrestler, Chanute; and Tony (Dawn) Wrestler, Hahira, Georgia. She is also survived by 23 step grandchildren; 24 step great-grandchildren; and one step great-great-grandchild. Four nieces Vicki Deke (Bob) Brookfield, Missouri; Carla (Ed) Murphy, Leawood, Ks.; Dorothy McCollum, Columbia, Missouri; Melanie Griffin, Marceline, Missouri; Janie (Larry) Norton, Mckinney, Texas; and one nephew, Jason King, Los Angeles, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Sylvia King Griffin, two brothers Richard (Bill) King and Larry King; nephew, Kenny Griffin; niece, Merle Jean Griffin; and step-grandsons, Kirk Wrestler and Mike Wrestler.
Cremation has been requested with a private family service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial has been suggested to Horizon Hospice and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS. 66720.
