Loren R. Robertson's Obituary
Loren Ray Robertson, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2017 in Chanute, KS. Loren was born the youngest of three children on April 2, 1933 in Chanute to Roy Franklin and Ruby Violet (Stoll) Robertson.
Loren attended school in several Kansas communities in the area including Rose, Neodesha, Independence, and Buffalo. He later attended junior college in Chanute. Loren served his country proudly in the Army from 1953-1955. He then worked as an electronics engineer and retired from Kustom after more than 25 years. He was the seventh employee when the company first started and was the vice president over engineering for part of his career.
Loren married Virginia Rae Rounds on October 26, 1971 in Miami, OK. She preceded him in death in 2007.
Loren was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa. He really enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and had a good sense of humor. Loren had a wide variety of music he enjoyed, especially Il Divo, and was a big James Bond fan, owning all of the movies. In his spare time, he was an avid jigsaw puzzle solver, enjoyed drawing and woodworking, and read every John Grisham book he could find. He was known to frequently play wiffle ball in his yard with his grandkids and enjoyed beating them in foot races. Loren enjoyed the Boy Scouts during his younger years and was a 60-year Mason. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Buffalo, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia; sister, Mildred Wilhite; twin sister, Loretta Sizemore; and nephew, James Sizemore.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home – Johnson Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church of Buffalo in Buffalo, KS with interment following at Buffalo Cemetery in Buffalo, KS. Chanute Honor Guard will be in charge of military honors. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
