Lynda Irene Craft's Obituary
Lynda Irene Craft (Holcomb) passed away at her home February 24th, 2024, at the age of 75 in Chanute, Kansas. She was born on June 18, 1948 to Irene and David Holcomb, in Burlington, Kansas. Lynda was known for her kind and gentle soul, her interest in all animals and nature, and love for her family.
Lynda is survived by her brother, Steven Holcomb of Chanute, KS; daughters Laura Stout of Florida, Teresa Craft of Canton KS, Heather Craft of Fredonia KS, Mike Craft of Chanute KS; Beth Craft; 22 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lee Craft, a daughter, a son, and a great-grandson.
Lynda graduated from Burlington High School and attended college at Neosho County Community College in Chanute. In her free time Lynda enjoyed reading, crocheting, and rescuing animals. She often was rescuing some wild creature that she had wondered across on one of her long walks. Generally, you could find her in her garden working, surrounded by her many cats and dogs. She had a very green thumb with any outdoor plants, but was often teased about her brown thumb with all house plants; as she couldn't keep a single one alive.
Cremation was requested and handled by Countryside Funeral Home in Chanute, Kansas.
