Mickey and I were mothers of young children when I first attended the Iola Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1973. Our children attended church school together so we shared many memories of these nearly 50 years. We even share September birthdays. I hope and pray to remain close to this family and wish I could provide more comfort.

My Grandma was the kindest woman. She always made it a priority to know I was loved and my kids were loved. If we were struggling or just had a bad day she would send snacks and fruit for the kids to eat with little toys. Even when she was in too much pain to see us she would call just to say she loved us. My favorite memories were our sleepovers and we would stay up until midnight so we could have a “midnight” snack of gram crackers, peanut butter, and milk. My world doesn’t shine as bright without her but I will love and cherish every moment we had.
