Marcella Eva Wright's Obituary
Marcella Eva Wright, age 92, of Stark, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 in Iola, Kansas. Marcella was born on January 28, 1924 in Sioux City, Iowa to William Ashley and Minnie Mae (Peterson) Durigan.
She was united in marriage to Marion Eugene Wright on August 8, 1943 in Sioux City, Iowa. They later made their home in Stark, KS.
Marcella was a homemaker; she was creative and enjoyed making things for her family. She also enjoyed flowers, cooking, canning, sewing, puzzles, friends, fixing things, reading and quilting. She was a member of the Rainbow Quilting Club. Most of all she was a peacemaker, loving her husband, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marcella is survived by her husband of 72 years, Marion; three daughters, Rosalie Schulze of Parsons, KS Janie and husband Joe Morgan of Chanute, KS and Linda and husband John Vanleeuwen of Walnut, KS; three sons, Robert and wife Karen Wright of Pottsboro, TX, David and wife Kathy Wright of Chanute, KS and Howard and wife Stacy Wright of Humboldt, KS; 26 Grandchildren, 53 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Minnie and William; her sisters: Marie Durigan, Betty Christensen, Violet Rath, and her brother Bill Durigan.
Funeral Service will be held at New Life United Brethren Church in Chanute, KS on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be prior to the service on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 10-10:30 a.m. at the church.
