Margaret Patricia Kerr Lafferty's Obituary
Margaret Patricia Kerr Lafferty, 83, of Chanute, formerly of Gold Canyon AZ and Cherry Hill NJ, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center. Margaret was born on January 22, 1939, in Philadelphia, PA, the oldest daughter of John and Margaret (Peg) Kerr.
Margaret was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Roxborough, PA and Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. On November 20, 1965, Margaret married William F. Lafferty. They resided in many places, including Atlanta GA, Columbus OH, and Arlington Heights IL. William (Bill) departed this life on July 7, 1988, leaving Margaret a widow at the age of 49.
In a full and rich life, some of the highlights of Margaret’s were the many cross country road trips with her parents and four siblings, Friday night dances and the Newport Jazz Festival with her sister Eileen, making “new pan pizza at Patty’s place” for her nieces and nephews, summer weekends down the shore with her daughters, following Neil Diamond from venue to venue one memorable tour, seeing her daughters get married and raise her grandchildren, having at least four books at a time on her nightstand, retiring and moving to her dream home in Arizona, her cats Diamond and Penny, and many trips to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. She felt especially blessed when her great grandchildren were born and was grateful to spend so much time with them in her final years in Chanute KS.

2 Great Grandchildren and eleven nieces and nephews
Cremation has been requested. Mass of Christian Burial Rites will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chanute with Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2022.
