Margret Ann "Marge" Laverty's Obituary
Margret A. “Marge” Laverty, age 76 of Thayer, KS, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 in Chanute, KS. She was born on October 27, 1941 in Iola, KS, the daughter of Ottie and Evelyn (Symms) Peres.
Marge graduated from Iola High School in 1959 and attended Beauty College in Wichita. Marge married Howard Laverty and they had one daughter together, they later divorced. She then married Bill Taylor and he preceded her in death.
Marge loved shooting pool and she was a member of a bush league. She was an excellent cook and owned and operated 169 Café in Thayer for over 25 years. Most of all, Marge loved going to her grandson’s events and spoiling him. Marge was a past member of the National Hairdressers Association and was baptized in the Methodist Church in Iola.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Kenton Laverty and brothers: Donald and James Peres.
Cremation has been requested. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Thayer Christian Church in Thayer, KS. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
