Marilyn Ada Harkey's Obituary
Marilyn A. Harkey, age 71 a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma and formerly Longton, Kansas passed away Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the Senior Suites in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Marilyn was born on August 18, 1937 in Oswego, New York the daughter of Loren W. and Mary Etta (Anspach) Burch.
On June 16, 1975 Marilyn was united in marriage to Frank “Steve†Harkey in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Marilyn worked as a secretary for TFC Canopy. Upon retirement Marilyn and Steve made their home on a farm east of Longton, Kansas. Steve preceded Marilyn in death on August 12, 1999.
She is survived by her sons Don Roberts of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Gary Harkey and a step-son Glen Harkey, a step-daughter Patty Myers, two brothers Bill Burch and Jim Burch, seven grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother Byron Burch and one sister Phyllis Nix.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Zimmerman Funeral Home with Rev. James O. Burch officiating. Inurnment will be at the Oak Valley Cemetery in Oak Valley, Kansas. Memorials may be left to the charity of your choice and may be left with the funeral home.
