Marilyn Louise Cawthon's Obituary
Marilyn Louise Cawthon, 78, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025 at Diversicare in Chanute, KS. Marilyn joins her husband Phil, parents Guy and Lucille Laney, brothers Frank, Don, and George Ray, son in law Gene and granddaughter Shannon.
Marilyn is survived by her sister Ellen. Her 3 children, Kim and Harold Deaton, LuCinda F. Ellis and Marvin and Lori Knoll. Grandchildren, Jeremy Deaton, Dustin & Tequilla Deaton, Tiffany and Cory Mommer, Sheena Clinesmith, Darrell and Lori Clinesmith and Kelly and Justin Craig. Great Grandchildren, Maci, Hayleigh, Gage, Tucker, Emilia, Hunter and Mercedes, Hayden and Kaylynn, Rayden, Jaxs, Keaton, Onyx, Jasper, Harper, Colby, Sydney, and Mia Grace. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Marilyn spent the majority of her life in Western KS before moving to Chanute. She had several careers in her life such as selling Avon, Ambulance driver and working in retail.
Marilyn enjoyed crocheting, canning, reading, fishing and travelling with her late husband Phil.
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family has entrusted Countryside Funeral Home for the arrangements.
