Marvin Donald Gregg's Obituary
Marvin D. Gregg, age 87, of Chanute, KS passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at his home. Marvin was born on October 12, 1929 in Iola, KS, the son of Irvin Foster and Wilma Doll (Donaldson) Gregg.
On February 19, 1949, Marvin married Juanita Ann Newton. She survives him at their home.
Marvin was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a man of many talents and worked as a mechanic, owned and operated the local ambulance service, and was a police officer. He was a member of Mirza Shriners, Shriners M.G. Club, Masons, FOP, and Scottish Rites. In his spare time, Marvin enjoyed making ink pens and knives, and also did woodworking and home repairs and remodeling. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Chanute, KS.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother; and grandsons, Michael Kelly and Chris Freeman.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Countryside Funeral Home – Johnson Chapel from 5-7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church in Chanute, KS. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, KS. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. Memorials have been suggested to Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
