Marvin Ray Rose's Obituary
Marvin Ray Rose, 85, Iola passed away surrounded by family at home on Saturday, February 18, 2023. Marvin was born on October 29, 1937 in Iola, the son of Clarence and Golda (Mullins) Rose.
Marvin grew up in Iola and graduated from Iola High School in 1956. On August 15, 1958, Marvin married Nellie Solon at First Christian Church in Iola, she survives at home. Being outside was where Marvin absolutely loved to be is a bit of an understatement; Marvin loved to tend to his small tomato garden, hunt pheasant and quail, fish, ride his motorcycle, go canoeing, camping, spending time on Grand Lake and even off roading in Colorado. Another part of the outdoors that Marvin enjoyed was helping his son in law Nathan on his farm.
While being outside was his biggest passion, Marvin also enjoyed learning about history, going to the casino and Saturday night poker with his friends. Marvin was a very loving and all around caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather; he will be missed dearly by his family and all who knew him.
