Mary Alice Rogers' Obituary
Mary Alice Rogers of Fredonia, age 74, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in Fredonia. Mary was born November 18, 1936 in Wellington, Kansas, the daughter of Richard and Alice (Floyd) Bostic.
Mary graduated from Fredonia High School in 1954 and then went to college for two years. On July 27, 1960 she married Lawrence B. Rogers in Vinita, Oklahoma. Mary and Lawrence were married for 29 years until Lawrence’s death in June of 1990.
Mary owned and operated a restaurant for several years, and was also a dietician. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Fredonia. Mary was very involved with the church, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Relay For Life, and supported fund raising events for the American Cancer Society. She will be missed by her friends and the community.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Lawrence, and foster children Larry Walty and Jack Ventle.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 20, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Countryside Funeral Home with Pastor Milo Steffen officiating, with burial to follow at Weakley Cemetery near New Albany. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service time. Memorials have been suggested to either the First Christian Church of Fredonia or the V.F.W.
