Mary Ann Barnes' Obituary
Mary Ann Barnes, age 86 of Fredonia, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Fredonia. She was born on October 28, 1927 in Fredonia, the daughter of Max and Marjorie (Hall) Robertson.
Mary Ann was a graduate of Fredonia High School. On February 6, 1949 in Fredonia, she was united in marriage to Melburn C. "Bud" Barnes. Mary Ann and Bud were married for 65 years and Bud survives at their home.
Mary Ann was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia. She taught Sunday School when her children were young. She was a member of the 1910 Club and the local Bridge Club. She was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star. When not working as a Bank Teller, Mary Ann enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching sports, especially KU Basketball and the Chiefs. She enjoyed going to watch parades. She was very festive for holiday and family birthdays, where she enjoyed cooking the meals and going all out on the decorations and settings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and Grandson Brandon Shay
Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014, at 10:30 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia with Pastor Carl K. Ellis officiating, burial to follow at the Fredonia City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 11, 2014 from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home Memorials have been suggested to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
