Mary Caroline Nearhood's Obituary
Mary Caroline Nearhood, age 80, a resident of El Dorado, Kansas passed away Friday, June 15, 2012 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas. She was born on October 18, 1931 in Howard, Kansas the daughter of Robert E. and Mattie Mae (Brown) Perrigo. Mary attended and graduated from Howard High School class of 1949.
In 1953 Mary was united in marriage to Frankie Lee Nearhood in El Dorado. Mary worked for many years as a toll booth collector for the Kansas Turnpike. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in El Dorado. Mary was an avid reader and she loved collecting all sorts of treasures.
Mary is survived by her son Brent Nearhood of El Dorado, Kansas, her daughter Carla Dickson of Russellville, Arkansas, one grandson Eric Dickson of Wichita, Kansas and one great grandson Steven Dickson of Wichita, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frankie, two brothers; Carl Williams and Billy Bob Perrigo.
Private family services will be held at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, Kansas. Family suggests memorials to the Bradford Memorial Library in El Dorado and may be left with the funeral home.
