Mary E Chase's Obituary
Mary E. Chase, age 97, a resident of Lawrence, Kansas, formerly of Chanute, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 12, 2017 to meet her Heavenly Father. Mary was born on November 3, 1919 in Chanute, the daughter of A.E. and Edna (Underhill) Turner.
On April 30, 1939, Mary married Lyle Chase in Chanute, Kansas. Lyle preceded her in death in 2003 after 64 years of marriage.
Mary lived in Chanute for most of her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mary enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband and loved to bake for her family. She also enjoyed bowling and crocheting in her spare time. Mary was very active with her church and was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Chanute.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Lyle; and grandson, Steven Stich.
A Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home – Johnson Chapel in Chanute, Kansas. A Funeral Service will follow immediately at 2:00 p.m. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
