Mary Cochran's Obituary
Mary Cochran, age 81, formerly of Thayer, KS, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019 in Oswego, KS. Mary was born on June 30, 1938 in Cherryvale, KS the daughter of Elba and Gladys (Fletcher) Ward. Mary was spent most of her childhood in Thayer, KS.
Mary married Claudie Gene Cochran on January 6, 1958 in Goldfield, NV. She was a military wife and was always there for her children. She enjoyed traveling with Gene and they spent the last 16 years RVing. They enjoyed spending the winter months in San Juan, TX and the summer months at the Roaring River State Park in Missouri. Mary enjoyed playing bingo and dominoes at the club functions at her summer and winter homes. She loved being a grandmother and she loved her grandkids dearly. Mary was a former member of the Daughters of the Nile and a member of the First Christian Church in Chanute.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Thelma Collins, Jess Ward and Robert Ward.
The family will greet friends on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel in Chanute, KS. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Chanute, KS. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. The family suggests memorials to be made to First Christian Church and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS 66720.
