Mary Etta Taylor's Obituary
Mary Etta Taylor, age 89 of Chanute, KS, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Country Place Senior Living in Chanute, KS. She was born on May 12, 1929 in Marshall, OK, the daughter of George and Susan (Monsey) Dulavey.
Mary Etta married Wayne Taylor on November 15, 1953 at the Galesburg Christian Church. He preceded her in death in 2005. Mary Etta worked as a cook at Fairfield Elementary School later becoming the director at Chanute High School cafeteria and then the food service director at Humboldt USD 258.
She and Wayne became involved with a group called People to People and traveled all over the world. She was also a member and officer of Eastern Star for over 60 years and was active in the Red Hat Society. Mary Etta was a volunteer community leader for the Willing Workers 4-H Club and at St. Patrick Bargain Store. She also enjoyed working at the polls on election days. She was a contributor to the Williams Fund at the University of Kansas and also a 20-year K.U. Basketball season ticket holder.
Mary Etta was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and also served on numerous committees and in leadership positons at the church.

Mary Etta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wayne; son, Gregg Taylor and brother, Lloyd Dulavey.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Otterbein United Methodist Church in Chanute, KS. The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel in Chanute. Burial will follow at Neosho County Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
