Mary lived her younger years in Burlington and in 1956 her family moved to Chanute; Mary graduated from Chanute High School in 1961. Mary was a stay home mom to her and John’s three children, investing richly in their lives.. She was very involved in the community including serving as the president of the PTA at Hutton Elementary School, and as a 4-H Leader that loved to teach children and young adults how to cook and sew, as well as numerous other positions.
