Mary A. McMillen's Obituary
Mary A. McMillen, 98, passed away April 17, 2019 at Country Place Senior Living in Chanute, KS. Mary was born on January 5, 1921 in rural Neosho County, Kansas the daughter of Warren and Mame (Duffy) Irwin. She married Wilbur McMillen on September 24, 1939 in Chanute, KS. Mary worked at Neosho Memorial Hospital as a cook for 20 years before retiring to farm with her husband. They were married 76 years until his death in September 2016.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Mame Irwin and seven brothers and sisters.
She is survived by four children; Kenneth (Beth) of Loda IL, Richard, Louden TN, Bill (Kathy) Chanute KS and Jane (Johnny) Crawshaw, Clay Center, KS, 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 22, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel. Funeral Service will on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 10 am at Otterbein United Methodist Church in Chanute, KS. Burial will follow the service at Neosho County Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. The family suggests memorials be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS 66720.
