Mary Melynn "Lynn" Settle's Obituary
Mary Melynn “Lynn†Settle, age 69, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011 at her home. She was born on April 24, 1941 in Amarillo, Texas the daughter of Dean M. and Marjorie H. (Fulghum) Huffman.
Lynn graduated high school from St. Mary’s Academy in Denver, Colorado in 1959. She attended St. Mary’s College in Xavier, Kansas until 1961. On September 2, 1961 Lynn was united in marriage to Bill Settle at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fredonia, Kansas.
Lynn was a longtime employee of Fredonia Pharmacy. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was a CYO teacher for many years. Lynn was also a member of the
Sacred Heart Altar Society, Fredonia Art’s Council and a longtime Girl Scout’s Leader.
She is survived by her husband Bill Settle of Fredonia, Kansas, two daughters: Terry Settle of Fredonia, Kansas and Cindy Settle Lippert of Clarksburg, Maryland, one son David Settle of Shawnee, Kansas, one brother David Huffman of Grant, Colorado, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Lynn was preceded in death by her parents Dean and Marjorie Huffman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fredonia, Kansas. Visitation will be at 6:30 PM with Rosary at 7:00 PM Tuesday at the church. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Fredonia. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to either Sacred Heart Catholic Church or a charity of your choice and may be sent to the funeral home.
