Mary Lee Zerby, age 96, of Kansas City MO and Overland Park KS passed away on July 16, 2024. She was born on November 14, 1927 in Petrolia KS to Henry Allen and Ruth (Larson) Zerby, and graduated from Chanute High School and Kansas State University. She was a retired teacher of grades K-4 and passionate about educating future generations. She also loved gardening, investing, fixing up old homes and playing Bridge. Mary is preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Lynn Enes on May 10, 2021, and survived by her daughter Arielle Park of San Francisco, CA, Teresa Wettengel Doxsee of Lenexa, KS Great Grandson, Billy Strube Wettengel of Las Vegas, NV and her beloved Lhasa Apso, Zeus. Also special friends Mark Bolton and Urena Fong of Overland Park KS who walked with and comforted her on her final journey.
A private ceremony was held July 25, 2024 at Countryside Funeral Home in Chanute, KS. Interment followed at Swede Center Cemetery; Rural Chanute.
