Matthew Allen Ray, age 41, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017 in Nowata, OK. Matt was born in Chanute on May 10, 1976, the son of Joe Ray and Linda Rogers.
Matt attended Chanute High School. He enjoyed working with his hands and worked as a floor mechanic.
Matt enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his son, Trenton. He had an eye for old, rustic junk and had the ability to turn it into creative art. Matt would also collect antiques and loved to just give it away. Matt will be greatly missed.

Matt was preceded in death by his brother, Jared Ray and step mother, Janice Ray.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, Johnson Chapel at 101 N. Highland in Chanute, KS. Funeral service will be on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Altoona Methodist Church at 8th and State in Altoona. Interment will follow at Altoona Cemetery in Altoona.
