Maurine Ruth Burns' Obituary
Maurine Ruth Burns age 75 of Fredonia, died Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Via Christi Hospital in Wichita. Maurine was born on December 27, 1940 in rural Fredonia, the daughter of Maurice and Leota Cecil (Eflin) Hise.
Maurine was a graduate of Fredonia High School class of 1958. On December 27, 1959 at the Fredonia United Methodist Church, she married Ronald W. Burns. Maurine and Ronald were married 56 years, Ronald survives at their home.
Maurine worked for Wilson County for 42 years, the last 12 years, she as the County Clerk. Maurine was a member of, and active in, the Fredonia United Methodist Church, she loved to take bus trips with her husband and stop and gamble along the way. She loved to shop and was an avid purse collector. She was a member of the Wilson County Old Iron Club and Optimist/Fredonia For Youth. Most of all, Maurine loved being with her family and friends

4 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren
Maurine was preceded in death by her parents, Sisters: Lois Ann Hise and Evelyn Jeffers.
Funeral services, will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 1:30 at the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia, with burial to follow at the Fredonia City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 5-7 at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
