Max Leon Barnaby's Obituary
Max Leon Barnaby, age 73, a resident of Wichita, Kansas passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014. He was born in Elk Falls, Kansas on December 24, 1940 the son of Jim Edward and Doris Elva (McDonald) Barnaby.
Max worked for 35 years for Learjet in Wichita and was the lead of upholstery. On December 26, 1978, Max was united in marriage to Linda L. Burrows in Wichita, Kansas. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hitting the water at Gridley, Woodson, Madison and Elk City Lakes. He recently caught two fish at the same time on the same lure. Max also enjoyed traveling, camping and playing Keno, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Max is survived by his wife Linda Barnaby of Wichita; sons, Mike Barnaby and his wife Carol of Topeka, Kansas; and Aaron Churchman and his wife Brooke of Washougal, Washington; daughter, Lori Howton of Newton, Kansas; brothers, Roland of Wichita; Dale; and Lester both of Tennessee, sisters, Wanetta; and Geneva both of Tennessee; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Sally Sue (Meisch) Barnaby; two daughters, Tammy Barnaby; and Christina Barnaby; brother Steve Barnaby; and grandson Justin Barnaby.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 at South Lawn Cemetery in Severy, Kansas. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Kansas Infant Death and SIDS Network or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and may be left with the funeral home.
