Max Leroy Beech's Obituary
Max Leroy Beech, age 83, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 in Lenexa, KS. Max was born on March 30, 1934 on the farm outside of Walnut, KS the son of George and Ruth (Smith) Beech.
Max graduated from Grant High School in Stark, KS in 1952. He married Kay Whitworth in 1955 in Chanute, KS. Max was proud to serve in the Army and later went to work at the Mid America Refinery in Chanute, KS for 23 years. He also worked for Chanute LP Gas for 13 years, hauling propane gas. He also enjoyed gardening and working in the yard and visiting at the coffee shop. Max was an avid KU basketball and KC Royals fan. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially playing with his grandkids. Max was a member of the American Legion.

Max was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kay and brother, Paul “Bud” Beech.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home – Gibson Chapel 16 N. Forest, Chanute, KS. A celebration of life service will be on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 1 p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home – Gibson Chapel. Interment will follow at Shaw Cemetery in Shaw, KS. The Chanute Honor Guard will be in charge of military honors. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. Memorials have been suggested to the Cherry Street Youth Center and Alzheimer’s Association and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
