Melva C. Ruddle - McNown's Obituary
Melva C. Ruddle – McNown, age 91, a resident of Moline, Kansas passed away October 6, 2009 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Home in Sedan, Kansas. She was born on May 23, 1918 in Elk County, Kansas the daughter of Leonard and Lulu (Arnold) Whaley.
On April 1, 1935 Melva was united in marriage to Fred Ruddle in Sedan, Kansas and he preceded her in death in August of 1976. July 1983 Melva married Orvil McNown in Sedan, Kansas and he also preceded her in death in January 1996. Melva was a member of the United Methodist Church in Moline.
She is survived by her daughter Corliss and her husband Larry Spiller and son Elden Ruddle both of Moline, Kansas. Two step sons: Kenneth McNown of rural Sedan and Carl McNown of rural Moline. One grandson: John David Spiller of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, October 9, 2008 at Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas with Pastor Chantilly Lovelace officiating. Visitation will be held at 4 to 7 pm on Thursday October 8 at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Moline Cemetery. Contributions may be made to either the Moline United Methodist Church or Harry Hynes Hospice and may be sent to Zimmerman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1233, Howard, Kansas.
