Melvin Wayne Wingrave's Obituary
Melvin Wayne Wingrave, age 83, a resident of Eureka, Kansas passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Golden Living Center in El Dorado, Kansas. He was born on September 25, 1928 in Severy, Kansas the son of William Dickens and Lena Prudence (Bohon) Wingrave.
On November 10, 1947 Melvin was united in marriage to Viola Yvonne Farrell in Roseburg, Oregon. He was a farmer and truck driver. Melvin was a member of the Severy Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Kiwanis, Boy Scout Leader and the Moose Lodge in El Dorado.
Melvin is survived by four daughters; Karen Crane of Golden Valley, Arizona, Vicki Shaver of Liberal, Missouri, Sheryl Wingrave and Ami Wingrave both of Severy, Kansas, 10 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Viola, two brothers Harlan Wingrave and William “Bill†Wingrave and one sister Lois Shell.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Severy Baptist Church in Severy, Kansas with Pastor Tony Pameticky officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at South Lawn Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to either Special Olympics Kansas or Heartland Hospice in Wichita and may be left with the funeral home.
