Michael Glenn Harrod's Obituary
Michael Glenn “Mike” Harrod, aka “Black Hat”, a resident of Howard, Kansas passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Howard Twilight Manor. He was born on May 26, 1945 in Eureka, Kansas the son of Glenn Richard and Edith Faye (McDonald) Harrod.
On May 22, 1965 Mike was united in marriage to Irvina Kay Osborn in Sedan, Kansas. He was a farmer, rancher and drove a truck for Frank Bills Trucking for over 30 years. Mike was a very good welder and built his bale trailer. He enjoyed being outdoors and if time permitted fishing and hunting when possible. Mike attended the Assembly of God in Sedan.
Mike is survived by his wife Irvina of the home; two sons, Terry (Jane) Harrod of Moline, Kansas; and Stephen (Tana) Harrod of Piedmont, Kansas; one daughter Michelle (Tracy) Vaught of Burden, Kansas; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Larry in infancy.
Per Mike’s wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Countryside Funeral Home with Pastor Robin Haines officiating. Memorials are suggested to either the Howard Twilight Manor or the Flint Hills Assembly of God and may be left with the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.
