Michael Eugene Young, age 48 of Chanute, KS, passed away in peace on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, KS. He was born on November 27, 1970 to Jerry and Georgia Young in Chanute, KS. He married Kay Matlock on December 12, 1997 and they had 3 children: Michael Young II, Curtis Isaacs and Amanda (Isaacs) Measles. Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #806 and the Elks motorcycle club and he was a part of the Humboldt Civil War Reenactment. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with his grandkids.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jerry; and sister, Connie.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home – Johnson Chapel. A service will take place at the Church of the Nazarene in Chanute, KS on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with interment following at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. The family suggests memorials to be made to the Elks Lodge #806 in Chanute and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS 66720.
